Raising awareness about Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM) and the power of early recognition and prevention.
Survival. Education. Advocacy. Healing.
The PPCM Pulse: Why this space exists
There’s something about the postpartum period no one talks enough about: the fear, the questions, the feeling that something isn’t right, and the silence that can follow when we try to speak up.
Welcome to The PPCM Pulse - a digital space created from the heart, for the heart. Whether you’re expecting, healing, grieving, or advocating, you belong here. This blog exists because too many mothers are suffering - or have suffered in silence. Too many are dismissed when they say, “I can’t breathe,” “My heart is racing,” or “I don’t feel like myself.” And far too many are lost to a condition that can and should be caught earlier: Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), a form of heart failure that can occur during or after pregnancy, often mistaken for “normal postpartum symptoms.”
I created this space to:
-
Educate mothers, partners, and communities about PPCM and maternal heart health
-
Uplift survivor voices - including myself... because storytelling can save lives
-
Offer tools for navigating pregnancy and postpartum with greater awareness
-
Create a soft place to land for those who feel unheard or unseen in the medical system
This is not just a blog. It’s a movement. A message. A call to action.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing:
-
Educational posts about PPCM and heart health
-
Real stories from survivors and families
-
Resources you can use and share with your care team
-
Emotional support for mothers and loved ones walking this road
If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll stay, explore and share. Let this be a space where knowledge meets compassion and where no one has to wonder alone.
With heart,
